West Ham star Michail Antonio is set to be withdrawn from the England squad due to a hamstring injury. The 26 year old featured in the full 90 minutes of the Hammers 3-2 defeat to defending Premier League Champions Leicester City but manager SlavenBilic revealed after the match that he had picked up an injury.
Bilic said: “He’s probably going to be withdrawn from the England squad with a hamstring problem. He felt something. He played the whole game but the medical team have told me now. He didn’t limp off, though, so we will see tomorrow.”
This will definitely come as a disappointment to Antonio, who would have been hoping to feature during the games against Germany and Lithuania.
It will also come as a blow to manager Gareth Southgate who as he has had to make do without the services of Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge and Harry Kane due to injury.
