Everton reportedly eye 21-year-old Serie A star as replacement for Lukaku

Tutto Mercato Web have revealed that Everton are considering buying Genoa forward Giovanni Simeone during the summer.

After snubbing a new contract offer from the Toffees, Lukaku is likely to be sold at the end of the season. As the Belgian international still has two years remaining on his contract, the Merseyside club will likely receive a massive cash injection from his sale.

Lukaku recently became Everton’s all-time top scorer in the Premier League and currently boasts 62 goals from 131 appearances for the club.

The 23-year-old is a key part of the Everton team and his loss is going to impact the club, hence they will have to find a quality replacement.

It has been reported that the Giovanni Simeone who is the son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego could be a possible replacement. Simeone has been impressive in the Italian Serie A this season, scoring 11 goals in 27 appearances for Genoa.
