Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez wants to see an improved performance from his side during their clash against Birmingham City next weekend after the Magpies fell to a 3-1 defeat against Fulham on Saturday.
The Spaniard had said following the game with the Cottagers, “The key for me is to see the reaction of the team now. We have some time to work together and prepare the game at Birmingham. We have to make sure they continue to enjoy things, especially at the end of the season.”
The match at St. Andrews will be crucial for Benitez’s team as Brighton went level on points with points with the Magpies after their 3-0 win over Derby County and will fancy their chances of challenging for the Championship title.
After what was a surprisingly poor performance from the Championship leaders, Benitez may have to bring in changes for the next game.
It was a bad day for the Magpies, who also need to analyze the fitness of defender Ciaran Clark after he suffered a first half injury.
