Former Arsenal striker turned pundit Charlie Nicholas has stated his belief that Leeds United will earn a promotion playoff position at the conclusion of the season.
Nicholas believes that Leeds will end up finishing in the playoff positions and due to the sheer size of the Whites’ support, stated that anything can happen.
Nicholas said, “I don’t think they’ll do better, I think it will be the play-offs for them. Garry Monk has done a fabulous job, but at the same time I think if you said to him right now ‘you’re going to be in the play-offs’, I think he would say ‘that’s a big achievement for Leeds’.”
Gary Monk’s side played out to a 1-1 draw with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Tuesday after Tim Ream’s own goal was cancelled out by a strike in stoppage time from the Cottagers’ Tom Cairney.
The draw sees the Peacocks remain in fourth place on standings. They have a firm grasp on the playoff positions currently as they lead seventh placed Fulham by eight points while trailing second placed Brighton, who occupy the second automatic promotion spot by a nine point lead.
