Report: Barcelona looking at Southampton to solve major issue

Barcelona have had issues finding a right back since the departure of Brazilian all-conquering full back Dani Alves. Barcelona have tried the likes of Aleix Vidal and Sergi Roberto, but injuries and a lack of form have cost them a permanent spot in the side.

And now it’s being said by the Mirror that the Catalan giants are looking to raid Southampton for their answer to this question. After selling Nathaniel Clyne to Liverpool in 2015, Southampton brought in Cedric Soares. And the Portuguese international has impressed with the Saints.

So much so that he’s now being targeted by one of La Liga’s biggest sides. It’s said that Soares is now rated at around £25m, which is five times what the Saints bought him for.

This looks like a decent move for all parties. It will no doubt be bothersome to Southampton, but this is the identity that they have. Barcelona can certainly do far worse than the solid Soares, and it looks very likely that this will get done eventually.
