Koeman reportedly keen on signing the next ‘Dennis Bergkamp’

The Mirror have reported that Everton manager Ronald Koeman is interested in signing Ajax captain Davy Klaassen during the summer. The 24-year-old’s contract will expire in 2019 and Koeman is hoping that the Dutch club will sell for a decent price.

Klaassen, an attacking midfielder, has been on top form this season in the Eredivisie by notching up 10 goals from 22 matches and gaining a reputation as the new Dennis Bergkamp.

Koeman is likely to face competition with Napoli and Eintracht Frankfurt, who are also reportedly keeping tabs on the Dutch international.

Klaassen made his debut for Ajax in 2011 and has firmly established himself as a key player known for his hard work within the team.

A move to Everton may be tempting. He may want to experience the Premier League while playing for the Toffees, who are showing signs that they may be able to compete for trophies in the coming years.
