Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has praised St. Mirren as the best team his side have faced this season after their 4-1 win over Scottish Cup win over the Buddies at Parkhead.
Harry Davis surprisingly put the struggling Scottish Premier League club in lead during the 13th minute and the Bhoys were lucky not to have gone 2-0 down after Buddies rattled the crossbar.
However Celtic took a commanding position in the game as expected after Mikael Lustig and Scott Sinclair scored to dash the hopes of those wanting a shock.
Strike duo Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffith’s then added further goals to eventually complete a rout for the Scottish Premier League leaders.
With the win Brendan Rodger’s side took their unbeaten run in domestic football to 34 matches and are cruising to yet another Premier League title with a massive 27 point lead over second placed Aberdeen on the standings.
Rodgers however was full of praise for St Mirren, saying, “They are the best team that we have played domestically, including Premiership teams, without any shadow of a doubt.”
