Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has addressed rumors about the fall out he reportedly had with manager Brendan Rodgers. The Hoops manager had made public his criticism of Griffiths in January by blasting him for not showing enough intensity and commitment towards training.
Griffith has now addressed the rumors on Celtic TV. He did not deny that a fall out did indeed take place and insisted that he is currently focusing on getting back to goal scoring form.
He said: “Being injured is so frustrating. Everyone has been talking about if there is a rift between the gaffer and me after what he said, but it is great to be back on the pitch, back amongst the boys and in the match-day squad.
“But hopefully in the coming weeks I will get more and more game time and hopefully I am back amongst the goals.”
Griffiths displayed prolific form last season, netting over 40 goals. This season however, he has endured a fall from grace, netting only 13 times. Young Mousa Dembele has taken over the role from Griffiths of being the Hoops main striker.
