Andre Ayew enjoyed a happy return for West Ham United on Saturday as he netted the goal to ensure a 1-1 draw with Watford in a pulsating match.
Both sides sit comfortably in mid-table on the League standings and were looking to strengthen their hold on their respective positions, however it was the Hornets who showed more vigor in the early stages of the game and they took the lead in the third minute.
Following a good build-up, former West Ham player Mauro Zarate was fouled by Cheikhou Kouyate in the penalty area and Troy Deeney comfortably opened the scoring from the resulting spot-kick.
West Ham managed to find the equalizer in the second half though as replacement for Robert Snodgrass, Ayew made an immediate positive impact for the Hammers and netted an equalizer.
Manuel Lanzini set up Michail Antonio for the chance and the latter saw his shot hit both posts, before Ayew slotted home the rebound.
