In rather surprising news, The Daily Star have reported that Paris Saint Germain are interested in signing Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
his could essentially mean that the striker could be set to swap a fringe position for the Championship club for a place in one of the best clubs in Europe.
The mega-rich French club, who thrashed Barcelona 4-0 in the Champions League earlier in the month, are monitoring the Magpies forward.
Mitrovic has not established himself as a regular first team player for the Tynside club with Dwight Gayle above him in manager Rafa Benitez’s pecking order.
This has however not put off PSG, who made an inquiry during the January transfer window and they may express an interest again during the summer.
Mitrovic has bagged several goals this season and his hungry to score more. He is likely to get more opportunities during Newcastle’s next few games due to the injury of Dwight Gayle.
