Report: Everton considering a shock big money move from Manchester United

Rooney

According to the Daily Mail, Everton are considering a big money move to bring back Wayne Rooney to Goodison Park.

Rooney left the Merseyside club for £27 million in 2004 and has gone on to become the all time record goal scorer for Manchester United and the England national team.

However, he has had limited game-time since Jose Mourinho arrived as manager of the Red Devils, which must be frustrating for the 31-year-old who is widely regarded as one of the most lethal forwards of this generation.

Rooney has made just eight Premier League starts this season and finds himself below Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford in the pecking order.

“The writing is on the wall for Wayne”, a source close to the player told Sportsmail. “He can see what’s happening. He’s playing less and believes he still has a lot to give. He won’t want to continue here like this.”
