With Everton fans well-aware of the rumors linking Romelu Lukaku away from the Merseyside club, the striker himself has dropped a hint that he may leave by recently posting on Twitter that, “UCL is where reputations are build”.
Lukaku has been on world-class form this season, bagging 17 Premier League goals with only Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez boasting more. His form is definitely going to attract the interest of some of Europe’s most elite clubs.
While Everton are a team that may be able to challenge for trophies in future years, he definitely wants to play in Europe’s elite club competition sooner rather than later and is likely to listen to offers from Champions League playing teams during the summer.
It appears now that the chances of him leaving are very high. Everton will have to accept the high probability that they will lose him at the end of the season and focus on bringing in a quality replacement.
