The Evening Times have claimed that talks over a new contract for goalkeeper Craig Gordon have been put on hold; however the Scottish giants remain confident of an agreement.
The 34-year-old was reportedly a target for Premier League leaders Chelsea during the January transfer window and wanted to speak to the London club about a possible transfer, however the Bhoys refused to listen to any offers.
Gordon’s performances this season have been impressive which should easily earn him a long-term contract extension at Parkhead.
However the fact that no deal has been reached as yet indicates that he may be waiting to hear if Antonio Conte makes another approach during the summer.
Gordon will be a good back up goalkeeper choice for Chelsea with Asmir Begovic likely to leave at the end of the season. He will likely not get many first team opportunities should he leave as Thibaut Courtois is on a fine run of form.
