Nottingham Forest manager praises high profile striker

Though Niklas Bendtner has reportedly shown “exceptional quality” during training sessions, he still needs to recover fully from his hamstring injury as well as out-compete the other forwards in order to win his place back in the Nottingham Forest lineup, according to The Nottingham Post.

Forest manager Gary Brazil has said that Bendtner needs to continue to approach life with the correct attitude as he looks to move above Britt Assombalonga, Ross McCormack, Zack Clough, Ben Brereton and Apostolos Vellios in the Forest pecking order.

The exclusion of Bendtner in his homeland of Denmark has reportedly not been received well with a Danish Tv crew having been sent to find out why exactly he has not been playing.

Brazil indicated that there are no issues with Bendtner’s effort in training; however he did mention that the Danish international needs to convince him that he deserves a place in the team.

“Nicklas has picked up a little bit of a hamstring problem,” said Brazil. “But he has been good, he has trained well. There is a quality there in him that you admire.

“He is a good member of the squad. We have players in the squad who are just ahead of him at the minute, when it comes to getting a shirt or getting on the bench.”
