Norwich City manager Alex Neil has revealed that he has been left with “mixed emotions” after his side managed a 2-2 draw with Championship leaders Newcastle United at Carrow Road.
The home team went behind before the first minute was competed as Ayoze Perez put the visitors ahead. They however did show determination to make the score 2-1 before halftime through goals from Cameron Jerome and Jacob Murphy.
The performance of Norwich showed signs of regress in the second half and the Magpies deservedly found an equalizer in the 81st minute after captain Jamaal Lascelles volleyed home.
The Canaries goalkeeper John Ruddy had a good game making numerous vital saves and were it not for him, his team would have not earned a point from the game.
Neil highlighted his mixed feelings, saying, “It’s a whole mixtures of emotions really because obviously you don’t expect to concede in the first minute, so that was extremely frustrating and disappointing from our point of view.”
