Ciaran Clark explains the difference between Newcastle and Aston Villa

In an interview published by the Daily Star, Ciaran Clark has said that when he joined Newcastle United from Aston Villa during the summer he was pleased with the positive mood St James Park.

Though Newcastle were relegated from the Premiership last season, the arrival of experienced manager Rafa Benitez has reportedly added a positive spark to the club.

Many fans of the Magpies were convinced that the team would achieve immediate promotion with Benitez in charge and so far those beliefs have proven to be justified with the club currently occupying first position on the Championship standings.

The mood of frustration at Villa has not changed since they were relegated from the Premiership last season. They occupy 16th position on the Championship standings and have no hope of winning promotion.

Clark has admitted that there is a big difference between the two clubs and said, “From the moment I arrived, it didn’t feel like a club that had just gone down. I sensed a feel-good factor which you don’t normally associate with a club that’s just suffered relegation.”
