Everton boss admits disappointment at Middlesbrough result

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted that his team’s 0-0 draw against Middlesbrough was a fair result though he was disappointed at the missed opportunities which the Toffees failed to take advantage off.

Koeman said, “It was a fair result. The weather conditions were tough. We know that it is difficult to create lots of chances against Middlesbrough and they showed today that they have really strong defensive organisation.”

Victor Valdez was impressive in goal for Everton denying efforts from AdemolaLookman and in form Romelu Lukaku. Everton goalkeeper Joel Robles also pulled off a stunning save to deny Rudy Gestede’s header.

Many had expected Lukaku to continue his goal scoring prowess, especially after he netted four against Bournemouth during the Toffee’s last league game. However resolute defending from Bernado Espinosa and Ben Gibson kept the Belgian at bay.

Lukaku will however definitely be disappointed at the fact that Valdez saved off him from a one on one situation. The opportunity proved to be Everton’s best opportunity to win the game.
