West Ham manager Slaven Bilic, who had to be sent to the stands after showing his frustration at referee Michael Oliver during his team’s 2-2 draw with West Brom, was unreserved in his criticism of the official declaring after the game that, “The referee was very bad today.”
Oliver made numerous questionable decisions during the game which resulted in Bilic becoming so infuriated that he had to be banished to the stands. The Croatian manager added that his team deserved a win on the day and that the result leaves his team with “bitter tastes” in their mouths.
The result sees the Hammers drop down to tenth place with West Brom retain eighth position. It is very easy to understand why Bilic is angry. His team were victims of poor officiating on the day and would have in all probability have won, had the officiating been better.
Off his own banishment to the stands, Bilic added, “To be fair I am already big time punished with what happened in the game.
“I don’t think that I crossed the line, it was nothing personal. It was the fourth or fifth decision which went against us and it’s hard to get over that without reacting.”
