The first game during Week 6 of the Liga MX Clausura 2017 will be held this Friday, February 10, 2017 (7:00 PM Pacific) when Xolos of Tijuana host Necaxa at the Estadio Caliente. Their last match was during the Apertura 2016 when the teams tied with a 1-1 score.
Xolos of Tijuana continue to be a nice surprise in this season as they leas the standings with 12 points product of 4 wins and 1 loss. The team coached by Miguel ‘Piojo’ Herrera lost against relegation favorites Monarcas Morelia in the first week, but since then has defeated Puebla, Chivas, Cruz Azul, and most recently Leon. Moreover, the Baja California side leads the league with the top offense with 12 goals; this considering that they let Dayro Moreno leave on loan during the offseason.
Necaxa has not fared well so far this season as they have only earned 4 points after 1 win, 1 tie, and 3 losses. The team coached by Alfonso Sosa missed their star player Edson Puch for several games early in the campaign, but now will hope that he will be a difference maker against the league-leaders.
