Report: Liverpool eyeing surprise swoop for unhappy Middlesbrough star

I remember when Gaston Ramirez first burst onto the scene. He looked the absolute real deal, and Liverpool had been linked with him. He moved elsewhere, to Southampton (before it was a cool side), and he’s never quite lived up to expectations.

However, Liverpool have been linked with the still young-ish (26) Uruguayan midfielder, according to reports from the Sun. After moves to Hull and Middlesbrough, he’ll be well acclimated, or at least should be, to the Premier League.

But this is still quite a strange case here. This doesn’t seem to be something that’s going to happen. There’s no doubting his quality on the ball, but he’s just not looking much like a Liverpool player.

He’s not got a great deal of pace, he’s often injured, and he’s just had a transfer saga of his own that left him in the cold for a short time. This is a move that shouldn’t happen, and likely won’t, unless it’s done for pennies on the dollar.
