Championship side Newcastle United are set to let versatile midfielder Vurnon Anita leave in the summer, according to the Chronicle.
The Netherlands international has made 125 league appearances for the Magpies since joining the club from Ajax in 2012.
This season, he has made 19 league appearances for the Magpies in Championship, and he recently received praise from his manager Rafa Benitez.
However, his contract with the Magpies expires in summer, and Chronicle claims that Benitez will let him leave in the summer as a part of his clear out at the club.
The Spanish has already cut loose other experienced players such as Steven Taylor, FabricioColoccini, Moussa Sissoko and PapissCisse since his arrival in March last year.
Anita has been a crucial part of Newcastle setup throughout his time at the club. Due to his versatility, he always managed to find a place for himself in the Newcastle’s first-team, and he will certainly be a big miss for them.
