Liverpool to reportedly reignite interest in Championship striker

According to the Mirror, Liverpool are set to try and lure in Nottingham Forest’s 17-year-old striker Ben Brereton this summer.

It’s said that they tried to sign the young striker from the Championship club in the January window, but they had their offer turned down for the starlet.

The report states that Manchester United are also keen on the striker, so it will make hearts and minds race a little quicker to try and see this one over the line if it becomes a real possibility.

Brereton, despite being so highly rated, has just scored his very first goal for Forest at senior level. He scored the winner in injury time against Aston Villa at the weekend.

This is something that Liverpool needs to work on. They’ve got to not only continue to look toward young players, but they also have got to develop them into true stars, or at least players that will give them additional funds to be spent later on.

he move is up in the air, in reality, at this point. It’s anyone’s guess as to whether he’ll end up at Anfield come this summer.
