Rafael Benitez talks about his future at Newcastle United

Over recent days, there have emerged reports suggesting that Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez may quit his job after the end of the season, however the man himself has said he “will not quit”.

Newcastle were interested in luring Andros Townsend from Crystal Palace on the transfer deadline day, however the transfer did not happen with rumors suggesting it was because the Magpies did not want to pay the loan fee requested by Palace.

There were reports suggesting that as a result of being unhappy with the transfer policy of Newcastle, Benitez may be considering his future with the club. However he appears to have dismissed these reports.

During his media conference, Benitez said, “I will not quit, I will not leave because I am happy or not happy. I am ready to fight and to try and get the three points in the next game to get promotion at the end of the season.”

Considering he remained at Newcastle after they were relegated from the Premier League which many high profile managers would not do, there is plenty of reason to believe Benitez.
