The return of the controversial Dimitri Payet to Marseille may have negative consequences on Tottenham Hotspur and one of their players, Clinton N’Jie, as suggested by HITC.
Payet, who was West Ham’s best player last season, controversially forced West Ham to sell him after refusing to play matches or take part in training sessions for the club.
N’Jie is on loan at Marseille from Tottenham until the end of the season. The player failed to establish himself at Tottenham and has also thus far failed to establish himself at Marseille. Though he has netted three times, he has started in only 8 of a possible 16 games.
The arrival of Payet will only serve to diminish N’Jie’s chances of gaining regular first team football and in addition to this, he will also have to compete with Florian Thauvin for game time.
At this stage, one can say that it is unlikely that N’Jie will be retained by Marseille during the summer. It is likely that he will return to Spurs where he may be offloaded.
