During his appearance on Premier League Tonight, which took place on January 31, Liverpool and England legend Steven Gerrard said that Tottenham cannot win the Premier League this season, as reported by HITC.
Spurs lie second on the Premiership log though they trail leaders Chelsea by nine points. At this rate, unless Chelsea have a dramatic decline in form, winning the Premiership title should be a mere formality and they will go into the final three months of the season as the overwhelming favorites to do so.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has however refused to concede that Tottenham’s title hopes are over. Gerrard feels that Tottenham have a similar characteristic to Arsenal as well as his former team Liverpool in a sense that they will fail to deliver when under pressure.
Chelsea drew with Liverpool this week and were very lucky that results went in their favor as well which served to boost their chances of Premier League glory. Arsenal suffered a loss to Watford and Tottenham drew against basement club Sunderland.
