Aston Villa seemed to have moved into the pole position to sign Brentford striker Scott Hogan. Sky Sports, The Mirror, and Express all report that Scott Hogan will join Aston Villa for a £15m fee. The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Premier League side West Ham United all throughout January, with Villa also closely monitoring his situation.
However, according to a report from Sky Sports, the Hammers have pulled their interest in the striker, making Villa strong favourites to sign the 24-year-old.
The report claims that Villa are currently in talks with the Bees and hope to secure the signing on the deadline day.
Meanwhile, West Ham manager Slaven Bilic is reportedly satisfied with his striking options following Andy Carroll’s return to form in recent games.
Bilic will soon have Andre Ayew back from Africa Cup of Nations while Diafra Sakho is also soon expected to make a return from his injury. Hogan is valued at £15m by the Bees and is also wanted by Crystal Palace and West Brom.
