Another interesting match-up in Week 4 of the Copa Corona MX will be Venados of Merida hosting Chivas of Guadalajara at the Estadio Carlos Iturralde Rivero this Wednesday, February 1, 2017. (5:00 PM Pacific). Both teams failed to beat Atlante in their first matches of the Copa MX so they will be looking to secure the three points in this game to keep going forward in the competition.

Venados de Merida are currently in a transitional stage as Jose Luis Sanchez Sola just recently left the club and said he was done with football all together. Just recently Venados found a quick replacement for ‘el chelis’ in former Liga MX top goal-scorer, Bruno Marioni. The former-Toluca star will come up against a tough first test in Chivas and may utilize many regular starters like Pablo Aja, Freddy Martin and Alejandro Vela to get accustomed with his new team. This plus the sold-out crowd in Merida could make for an exciting match at the Estadio Carlos Iturralde Rivero this Wednesday.

Chivas is coming from a disappointing 1-1 draw in the Copa MX to second division side, Atlante at the Estadio Chivas. Matias Almeyda did use many key players like Jair Pereira, Jose Juan Vazquez, Carlos Fierro and Nestor Calderon. With Guadalajara needing the three points it is likely that Almeyda will use key players in this match as well. The game should be interesting with Bruno Marioni taking charge of Venados, the sold-out crowd and well, Chivas.
