Premier League man speaks about Leeds United speculation

Fabian Delph has spoken up about transfer rumors linking him with a switch to West Brom and former club Leeds United.

Delph recently made a comeback after having spent four months on the sidelines with a groin injury. Reports emerged linking him with a loan move to allow him to regain fitness. While the player is aware of the rumors, he is not keen on moving away from the Etihad stadium.

He was quoted saying by the Daily Star, “A couple of mates have said to me: ‘You’ve been linked with X, Y and Z’ but I’ve not given it any thought.

“I’m happy here. I feel like I can help my teammates and I’m obviously fit again so I can get some more minutes and help the team to push on.

“I love it here. I’m working with the best players in the world, great management, great staff around me and I’m very, very happy here.

“I want to try to help my teammates push forward. I’m fit so hopefully I’ll get some more minutes.”

From a realistic perspective, Delph may be able to stay at City until the end of the season and  try to prove to the Guardiola that he is worthy of keeping. One of his strengths is that he is versatile and reports have emerged that he may even be used at left back for City.

Since arriving at the club in 2015, he has not yet established himself as a first team regular, playing only 20 Premier League games.  He has also had a torrid time with injuries which have curtailed his progress as a player.
