APOEL Nicosia striker Pieros Sotiriou has been linked with a move to Everton. It has been reported by Le Parisian (Daily Star in English), that the Merseyside club are one of three teams monitoring the 24-year-old who has displayed impressive form in the Cyprian top flight.
He has bagged 14 goals from 19 games and has played 19 games for Cyprus since making his debut four years ago. He is contracted to APOEL till 2020.
Ronald Koeman will however have to compete with his former club Southampton as well as Stoke who are also reportedly keen on the player. Cyprus is not a country known for producing star footballers, however maybe Sotirou could just be the guy to put Cyprus on the football radar.
If one of the clubs do end up signing him, he will become just the third Cypriot to play in the Premier League following in the footsteps of Alexis Nicolas and Nikodimos Papavasiliou.
