After many rumors and a lot of ridiculous posturing in the media by both sides, Everton Football Club have officially announced that AC Milan have signed Gerard Deulofeu on loan until the remainder of the season.
It looks like after all of that posturing that AC Milan ultimately won out as this is a loan deal. Everton did not want to loan the 22-year-old Spaniard at all, but they then decided only to do a loan to buy deal.
There’s no word on whether or not that is the case, so we’re going to assume that it is just a loan. AC Milan manager Vincenzo Montella, who has a litany of young players at his disposal, will be very happy with this deal.
If he can get something out of Deulofeu consistently, Milan can fight their way back up the table and possibly make it back to European football for next season.
This is a great deal for all involved as it clears space for Everton, allows Deulofeu to get playing time, and it allows Milan to have less pressure for the move to work.
