As quoted by the Daily Express, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has stated that he has a verbal agreement in place with midfielder Lucas Leiva.
Lucas Leiva has found regular first team football hard to come by at Liverpool during the current campaign and it was widely reported that the Brazilian would be leaving Anfield during the current January transfer window, with Inter Milan believed to be keen on his services.
That said though, Lucas has earned more minutes on the pitch for Liverpool in recent matches and the 30-year-old leaving Merseyside does not look as clear cut as it did a couple of weeks ago.
Now Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has gone on to speak about the situation surrounding Lucas at the moment and has revealed that he has an agreement in place with the veteran to keep him put at the club at least till the end of the season.
Asked if Lucas was definitely staying at Liverpool, Klopp said, “From my point of view, yes. What is definitely in this job? We have a kind of agreement. So I would say yes.”
