West Ham are still interested in Toulouse striker Martin Braithwaite, according to a report from Sky Sports. The Hammers made an initial bid of £8.5m for the striker last month, but, that offer was deemed insufficient by the Ligue 1 club.
However, the Hammers have maintained their interest in the Denmark international, but they face competition from a number of European clubs.
The report speculates that interests from multiple clubs in the player could lead to a bidding war among the interested parties.
The 25-year-old has scored seven goals in 17 league appearances this season, and he was also the standout player for his club last season.
The Toulouse skipper joined the French club in a £2m move from Danish Superliga club Esbjerg FB in the summer of 2013. He is now reportedly valued at £10m by his club. Meanwhile, West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is desperate to sign a striker and has pursued a number of targets this month.
