Liverpool Strongest Possible Lineup vs Plymouth: Sturridge and Woodburn to start

Sturridge

Liverpool’s winless start to 2017 continued after they could only manage a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford during the weekend but considering the fact that the Reds had their backs against the wall for majority of the clash, the point can probably be seen as a positive result by manager Jurgen Klopp.

Now Liverpool prepare for a midweek FA Cup 3rd replay against Plymouth Argyle at Home Park and one can be sure that the Reds will once again have to work hard in order to see off the plucky League Two outfit.

Here is the strongest possible Liverpool lineup for the clash against Plymouth –

Goalkeeper

Simon Mignolet has been in fantastic form in recent matches but it looks very likely that Loris Karius will be starting between the sticks for the Reds on Wednesday night.

Karius put in a stunning performance in the 1st leg of the EFL Cup semi finals last week and the German international will be hopeful of building on the performance in midweek.

Defence

Despite failing to see off Plymouth last time out, Klopp is expected to field a youthful lineup once again and one can expect to see the likes of Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold to be featuring during the clash.

Alberto Moreno is set to be lining up at the left side of defence but with Lucas Leiva and Joel Matip both unavailable at the moment, either Ragnar Klavan or Dejan Lovren may be handed a start in central defence.

Midfield

Kevin Stewart should get a start on the night and the youngster could well be partnered by the experienced duo of Georginio Wijnaldum and Emre Can.

Klopp may view the encounter as an opportunity to hand Jordan Henderson much needed match fitness following his injury but doing so might prove to be a risk.

Attack

Daniel Sturridge did not feature at all against Manchester United and there is a possibility that the England international could now be given the nod to start on Wednesday.

Divock Origi looks certain to be starting as well while teenage sensation Ben Woodburn might well be given a chance to shine ahead of Sheyi Ojo.
