The third and last match during Matchday 3 of the Centroamericana 2017 will be between Panama and Honduras this Tuesday, January 17, 2017 (6:00 PM Pacific) at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City. As one of the most noteworthy games during this short tournament, this match is expected to be extremely battled between two teams expected to reach the Gold Cup CONCACAF 2017.
Panama currently sits in 3rd place on the six-team group in which the top-four will directly reach the Gold Cup 2017 and the 5th place will play a wild card playoff. The team coached by Hernan Dario Gomez negatively surprised many after tying 0-0 against Belize during Matchday 1. His team improved on the second game where they defeated Nicaragua 2-1. This Tuesday Panama will have a tough match against the always difficult Honduras yet they hope to earn the 3 points under the support of their home fans.
Honduras has thus far been the best team in the competition after earning two wins in their first two matches. The team coached by Jorge Luis Pinto defeated Nicaragua 2-1 in the first match and El Salvador 2-1 in the second. Currently sitting in 1st place, Honduras will battle for another win against the host Panama in what would give them a direct pass into this summer’s competition.
