Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has spoken to Sky Sports about transfers, and he’s had a few opinions that will help to know his intentions for this January window. First, he makes it very clear that Liverpool have to bring in only players of the highest quality.
This makes sense, as he mentions that Liverpool have a deep squad, much deeper than in the past. He also mentions that a deal won’t be done unless it’d be a move that he would sanction in the summer. Basically, he’s saying no panic buys.
The last thing we’ll mention is that Klopp goes on to say that the “English football is especially obsessed with transfers.” This is very true, and it’s what has driven the market price for players up so high.
Everything that Klopp has said makes perfect sense, and it’s why he’s not going to be doing much in January. Yes, Mane is gone for a little while. But Liverpool really should have what it takes to do without him. Don’t expect the Reds to do much- if you do, you’re going to be disappointed.
