According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool U-23 striker Brooks Lennon is a target of MLS club Real Salt Lake in this transfer window. Lennon, only 19 years old, has been great this season for Liverpool’s U-23 side.
Lennon was bought from Real Salt Lake after he was very impressive during a trial. He had gone to see friend and fellow American Marc Pelosi, who had terrible injury issues slow his progress, there and received his shot. He’s progressed from the U-18s to the U-23s, and now he is seeking to progress further in America.
While some out there talked of a rumored bid to outright buy Lennon, the Echo is reporting that this will be a loan deal. They make it sound as if it is close to being done already. If completed, the deal would run through around December because MLS runs from March to then for the better clubs.
This deal looks very likely, and it should give him an opportunity to play a lot of first-team minutes. If he does not, this will be a big let down and will seriously hamper his development.
