Promotion-hopefuls Newcastle United have been linked with an interest in Derby County winger Tom Ince, according to a report from The Sun. The report claims that Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is a fan of the player and he is a £8million target for the Magpies in January.
The 24-year-old, who has had a taste of Premier League action with Crystal Palace and Hull City, has been in superb form for the Rams this season.
The former England U21 international, who joined the Rams in a £4.75m deal from Hull City in 2015, has scored eight goals and provided three assists in 24 league appearances this season.
He also scored a winner for his side in the FA Cup third-round success over West Brom on the weekend.
Meanwhile, the Magpies have been left frustrated in their pursuit of Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek. The Championship side, along with a number of other clubs, were interested in signing the 20-year-old on a loan deal.
However, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has dismissed any possibility of the player leaving the club on a loan move in January.
“Ruben is an important player for Chelsea,” Conte told talkSPORT.
“He must know this. We trust a lot on him.
“For this reason, it’s important to work a lot and to take satisfaction with our team.
“No, No. Absolutely (he’s not leaving). I don’t want this. For Ruben, I don’t want this.
“He knows this and the club knows this. I want him to stay because he’s ready to play for the first team.
“If he shows me he wants to play, he knows that he plays.”
