On Tuesday, January 10, Cruz Azul officially announced the signing of Uruguayan striker, Martin Cauteruccio with a post on Twitter. The Uruguayan striker passed his physical and now conforms part of ‘La Maquinal led by Spanish manager Paco Jemez. The team from the capital looks to be on the way up with a new manager at the helm and with their new set of signings.

Cauteruccio is currently in one of the best forms that he has ever been as the 29-year old striker has scored nine goals in nine games for San Lorenzo in the Argentine Primera Division.

It is yet to be seen whether Cauteruccio will be a frequent starter for Cruz Azul, but with the current form he is in, one cannot imagine that he will sit on the bench this season. The Uruguayan is mentioned to have his transfer paperwork ready in time before the Pumas UNAM vs Cruz Azul game on Sunday.

Paco Jemez will have a big decision whether to play or sit out Cauteruccio for the big rivalry match against Pumas. With this new signing, Cruz Azul may just have one of the deadliest strike forces in the Liga MX now. The Uruguayan, Cauteruccio, and the Paraguayan, Jorge Benitez could be the cause of many headaches to come for Liga MX opposing managers this season.
