According to reports from the Daily Star, Manchester United have joined Chelsea in the race to secure the services of Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Jose Mourinho endured a difficult start to life with Manchester United but the Portuguese tactician has managed to get things back in order at Old Trafford in recent times and the Red Devils are currently on a wonderful nine match winning run.
On current form, United look like they will be able to mount a late challenge for the Premier League title but it will surely not be easy and in order to do so, the Red Devils will most probably have to strengthen their squad during the current January transfer window.
With Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger set to leave, United perhaps need to sign a new midfielder this month and according to reports from the Daily Star, the fallen Premier League giants are currently eyeing up a move for Tiemoue Bakayoko.
Bakayoko, who is also a target for Chelsea, has emerged as one of the most promising young defensive midfielders in Europe over the past few years and United manager Jose Mourinho is said to be ready to splash as much as £40 million to sign the 22-year-old.
