According to reports from the Star, on-loan Stoke City striker Wilfried Bony may well be the next man to move to the Chinese Super League for super money (£210,000-a-week). Bony, currently representing the Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations, is thought to have become a target now at the age of 28.
This would be a big deal for both sides. Bony hasn’t really asserted himself this season after being loaned from Manchester City, with an obvious eye toward a permanent move.
Bony won’t be in the plans of Guardiola, especially if he’s not in the plans of Mark Hughes after all. With Stoke getting more from Crouch, it looks like he’d be allowed to leave.
This move, unlike a lot of the Chinese rumors, looks very plausible. Bony will be keen to play more, and it’s almost a certainty that he’d love to make more than his fair share of money while doing it.
Manchester City would also like to make a fair amount of money. This one looks pretty likely as far as these rumors go.
