Apparently, it’s all happening in the race to sign the unwanted Mahamadou Sakho, as Southampton have now reportedly (Liverpool Echo) thrown their hats into the ring. After news of three Ligue One clubs in the French defender, the Saints have joined Sevilla in an attempt to give him time on the pitch.
Sakho has had a rough go of it lately. He missed games after being suspended for doping, and then he was cast away by Klopp for behavioral issues. Now, it looks like they want to offload him to anyone willing to pay a decent price.
Sevilla approach Liverpool about signing Mamadou Sakho. Liverpool will only let him leave on permanent deal & they want £20 million.

Sevilla’s inquiry, reportedly, led to Liverpool telling them that a permanent deal must be done, and that is must done for £20 million. This figure is surely going to put a few off, no doubt.
Whether the Saints will stay interested is a big question. It really depends on the status of Jose Fonte and Virgil van Dijk. Hold this space because we may find out more than will swing this story.
