Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has become Everton’s potential summer singing after impressing with Bournemouth this season. According to The Mirror, Everton has entered the race alongside Manchester City, who are already in contention to sign the Gunner ace.
Wilshere has 18 months left on his contract and while Arsene Wenger has claimed he wants the 25-year-old to stay, there are chances the midfielder is looking at a future away from the Emirates Stadium.
The England international was marred with injuries and struggled to make appearances for Arsenal because of which he opted to play with the Cherries on loan this season.
Jack has impressed so far under his interim manager Eddie Howe and the midfielder’s creativity on the pitch hasn’t gone unnoticed by Everton.
Manager Ronald Koeman might face tough competition from City but with the entrance of Farhad Moshiri as a major stakeholder at Everton, the Toffees might be able to land Wilshere after all.
Whether Arsenal will let the club buy him in the summer is still a question yet to be answered. However, with the Gunners having enough players contesting for a midfield position, Wilshere might opt to permanently part with Wenger for the sake of better first team opportunities.
