According to a Daily Mail report, Tottenham are set to reject West Ham’s advances for full-back Kieran Trippier.
The 26-year-old has found game time hard to come by, making only three appearances in the league this season. Following his £4M transfer to White Hart Lane in the summer of 2015, Trippier has found himself behind Kyle Walker in Pochettino’s plans.
He is, however, still a capable backup to his English compatriot, which may be the reason for Spurs’ reluctance to sell.
In their search for a new right-back, West Ham have also reportedly made inquiries for Stoke City player Glen Johnson. The Stoke man is in the last year of his contract, albeit with the option for a one-year extension. Hull City’s Ahmed Elmohamady and Wolves’ Dominic Iorfa are other possible options for the Hammers.
In light of West Ham’s recent woes in the transfer market, it will be interesting to see how this develops.
