Report: Everton Look to World-Class Serie A Defender

According to Sky Sports Italia, Everton manager Ronald Koeman is set to look toward Roma center back Kostas Manolas to sure up his back line for the coming run-in.

Having started the season well, Everton have been inconsistent of late, and Koeman wants to improve his side defensively.  Manolas would be seen as a massive coup, and he could make a great partner of Ashley Williams.

Manolas has earned a reputation for being one of the best center backs in European football as he has helped Roma to second place, currently, in Serie A.

Manolas has even helped unfavored Greece reach heights that it was supposed to reach back in the 2014 World Cup.  With Manolas, you have a massive rock at the back to depend on.

This one looks to be a bit of a stretch, however.  While there likely is interest in the Greek international, it’s unlikely that Everton would be able to reel him in.  Roma are likely to continue to qualify for the Champions League, and the 25-year-old will likely get offers from bigger sides come the summer anyway.
