The Daily Express is reporting that Celtic have agreed to a £2.8 million fee with Russian team Krasnodar for the 19-year old Ivorian midfielder Kouassi Eboue.
The talented youngster was sought after by both Monaco and Genk, but, per reports from the Daily Express, it appears that Eboue will end up with the Scottish giants. Eboue’s agent stated that Eboue can emulate what Kenyan Wanyama accomplished at Celtic: bought for £900,000 in 2011 and sold two years after to Southampton for £12m.
Eboue’s agent said “Eboue is not yet at the level of Wanyama but I believe he can reach this standard in a year and will have lots of clubs interested in him.” Furthermore, the agent said Eboue is very interested in Celtic, due to the experience Brendan Rodgers brings to the team.
Celtic fans should be pleased with this move, as Eboue appears to have the talent to both have an immediate impact on the team, and possibly be sold off in a couple of years for a tidy profit. Per the Daily Express, Eboue will sign a four year deal.
