Manchester United have managed to get themselves back into the running of a top four finish following a fine run of six consecutive Premier League victories and things are certainly looking up for the Red Devils at the moment following a poor start to the season.
That said though, the competition for a place in the Champions League this season remains fiercer than it has ever been and manager Jose Mourinho would have been more than aware of this fact.
To improve his side’s chances of earning a top four finish, Mourinho is expected to strengthen the ranks at Old Trafford with a couple of signings during the current January transfer window and now according to shock reports from Foot Mercato, claims have been made that the Red Devils are currently considering a move for French veteran Lassana Diarra.
Diarra wanted by United
Diarra is an experienced player who has played for the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Portsmouth and Real Madrid among others throughout his career and the 31-year-old is currently enjoying a revival at French Ligue 1 outfit Marseille.
His impressive performances for Marseille has earned him a recall into the French national team and now Manchester United are also said to be open to making a swoop for the midfielder this month.
