Jose Mourinho has reportedly eyed Harry Kane as the long-term replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and is willing to splash £80m to get his man (Express via Calcio Mercato).

Kane has been in sparkling form for the London outfit over the last couple of years and has been a target for the Red Devils in recent times. However, the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the Swede’s goal-scoring form has momentarily softened the Red Devils’ stance.

Nonetheless, Mourinho is already looking towards the future and has earmarked Kane to be the man who will replace his current veteran striker. And although anything less than £80 million will be rejected, the Red Devils are unlikely to be deterred by the asking price and would be eager to pay anything Kane’s employers want.

Kane has already scored 59 goals in 100 appearances in the league and will prove to be a valuable addition to Manchester United’s already star studded squad.

However, it remains to be seen if the player would really be interested in leaving Spurs since the Londoners are heading in the right direction and can provide the striker with everything he wants at club level. Daily Mail reports Tottenham will not consider the move, which makes the possibility of this transfer much more unlikely.
