According to a report from Daily Record, Celtic Manager Brendan Rodgers has allowed third choice goalkeeper Logan Bailly to sanction his move to Serie A outfit Palermo in the January transfer window.
At 31, Bailly hasn’t been able to nail down a permanent spot in the Celtic Starting XI this season.
Moreover, ever since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers at Parkhead, the Belgian is yet to make a League appearance for the Bhoys.
After his arrival from OH Leuven at the start of last season, it was predicted that Logan would prove to provide competition for the Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon.
After making three League appearances in his maiden season for Celtic, this season has proved to be disastrous for Bailly.
With no league appearance under the new manager – and Celtic sitting comfortable atop the Scottish League, there seems to be no way back for Bailly in the Celtic Starting XI any soon.
Moreover, when he arrived at Celtic, Rodgers signed Dorus De Vries from English Championship side Nottingham Forrest.
De Vries has played for four years under the tutelage of Brendan Rodgers at Swansea City.
Thus, despite the fact that De Vries was 34 on his arrival in Scotland, his former work experience with Brendan Rodgers elevates the Dutchman ahead of Bailly in the Celtic pecking order.
Consequently, with Palermo indicating their interest in Bailly, it seems that he would be moving to Italy in the current transfer window.
