According to Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan have had a loan offer for Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu turned down by the blue half of Merseyside. The former Barcelona youth product had impressed at Everton initially, but has not been a favorite of Ronald Koeman since the arrival of the Dutch manager. Having been turned down on this loan offer, it is rumored that Milan will try and seek a permanent move for the young Spaniard now.
Given the talent and potential that Deulofeu does hold, it wouldn’t be the worst move in the world. Milan are a club that are looking to build back to their former glory, and they’re currently doing a good job of that as they sit in fifth place in Serie A.
They’ve also just won the Italian Super Cup over Juventus, which will no doubt give them a lot of confidence going into the New Year. With Deulofeu on the wings, Milan could be a serious threat against the stifling defenses that are on show in Italy.
This moves looks like it is very plausible. Despite the absence of Yannick Bolasie for a stretch, Koeman just hasn’t take very well to Deulofeu. Milan have already taken one man from Merseyside- Suso- and turned him into a budding star in Italy, and it looks like they could try and do the same thing here. This one looks like it will come down to the price. If Milan can reach the right deal, then Everton will let go of the Spaniard.
