Colombian star forward Darwin Quintero of Liga MX’s Club America is on the transfer radar of several MLS teams for the upcoming 2017 season. After being transfer listed following a season in which he was sidelined for poor performances and an unfortunate Thrombophlebitis blood clot, Club America management is looking to place Quintero on a team outside of Mexico.
Just this week, the Aguilas were close to trade the forward to Xolos of Tijuana in exchange of Aviles Hurtado who declined to be traded as he is currently happy in the border city team. Nonetheless, America management do not seem to want the Colombian due to the team’s high number of foreign players and his high salary.
For this reason, Quintero is mentioned to be wanted by an unnamed Turkish team, but most significantly by several MLS teams in the United States. While the 29 year old’s future is unknown, it all indicates that his days in Mexico are over where he was once a highly regarded star with Santos Laguna and most recently with the team from ‘coapa’.
